One of the most fascinating aspects of driving a truck is off road driving. Instead of keeping to the regular roads, off road trucks take on new terrains to see how far the limits of driving can be stretched. These trucks are usually outfitted with special tires, suspensions, and lift kits to ensure that they give the best performance possible. If the terrain is mild enough, regular trucks can even go off road driving.

There are many different types of off road driving. Some are based out in muddy fields and others are found on mountain hills and trials. There are even trails set up for people to enjoy riding across sandy dunes. Of course, each type comes with its own risks and it is very common for drivers to become stuck while going through pits of mud or piles of sand. Drivers can take courses to become more educated on the techniques of off road driving, or have a guide take them out instead.

Off road driving can be a fun hobby, but some people take it more seriously. Competitions are held to see who can make it the farthest through a mud trial or the fastest over a length of boulder hills. There are even trails set up just for off road drivers.
